Commander 301 Artillery Regiment Decorates Newly Promoted Senior Officers

The Commander 301 Artillery Regiment (General Support) Gombe, Colonel Abubakar Mohammed has on Tuesday decorated the Second in Command of the Regiment, Major Tonye Ibiama with his new rank of Lieutenant Colonel.

The senior officer who was decorated at the Commander’s Office New Barracks Gombe, benefitted from the recent Nigerian Army Senior Officers promotion approved by the Army Council as conveyed by the Chief of Army Staff (COAS) Lt Gen Olufemi Oluyede.

In his remarks, Colonel Abubakar Mohammed charged the newly decorated senior officer to see his elevation as a divine gift.

According to him, the promotion was additional responsibility bestowed upon him in recognition of his outstanding performance, dedication and significant contributions to the Regiment and Nigerian Army, hence the reason for the elevation.

The Commander urged the celebrant to prioritize continuous personal and professional development to become an agent of positive change and contribute effectively to the advancement of the Nigerian Army

Also speaking at the event, the Commissioner for Internal Security and Home Affairs, Lieutenant Colonel Abdullahi Bello (Retired) congratulated the newly promoted senior officer, and encouraged him to prepare for greater task ahead.

He emphasized that “the journey in the Armed Forces is not measured by distance but by the quality of service”.

The Commissioner highlighted roles played by Commanders as crucial in recording success in the Nigerian Army.

In his vote of thanks, Lieutenant Colonel Tonye Ibiama expressed gratitude to God Almighty for making the day a reality.

He further thanked the Army Council and the COAS for considering him a beneficiary of the promotion.

He also thanked the Commander for his exceptional leadership style, mentorship and positive recommendation as well as invited guests for witnessing the ceremony.

He promised more efforts and hard work in his new rank to justify the confidence reposed on him by the Nigerian Army.

In attendance was the Commander 301 Artillery Regiment Colonel AM Mohammed, the Chairperson NAOWA Gombe State Chapter, Hajiya Naheematu Mohammed, The Honourable Commissioner for Internal Security and Home Affairs. Lieutenant Colonel Abdullahi Bello (Retired) the Representative of the Commissioner of Police, DCP Mustapha Bashir, The Head of Department Nigerian Security Civil Defence Corps, Deputy Commandant of Corps MD Mohammed, Officers, Soldiers amongst many other well wishers.

According to the statement by Captain Mazinho Attah Acting Assistant Director Army Public Relations 301 Artillery Regiment. (General Support) the event was climaxed with group photographs and well wishers.
