KNSG COLLABORATES UNICEF, E-HEALTH AFRICA COMMENCES SOLAR INSTALLATION IN 28 PHC FACILITIES

The Kano State Primary Health Care Management Board, in collaboration with UNICEF and E-Health Africa, has officially commenced the solarization project for 28 Primary Healthcare (PHC) facilities across the state.

The entry meeting, chaired by the Director of the Board, Dr. Nasir Mahmud Muhammad, brought together key stakeholders, including representatives from UNICEF, E-Health Africa, ALGON, and other officials.

In his remarks, Dr. Nasir Mahmud Muhammad reaffirmed the State Government’s commitment to strengthening healthcare infrastructure through sustainable energy solutions. 

He emphasized that the solarization project will provide reliable power to PHC facilities, improving service delivery and ensuring better healthcare outcomes for citizens.

He further called on the affected Local Government Council Chairmen to take ownership of the initiative by ensuring adequate security measures to protect the installed infrastructure for the benefit of the state.

During the meeting, Dr. Sekere, representing UNICEF, and Mr. Peter Ajewole from E-Health Africa, provided a detailed presentation on the project’s scope, objectives, and expected impact. 

They highlighted the role of renewable energy in enhancing healthcare services, particularly in rural and underserved areas.

Earlier, the Director of Planning, Monitoring, and Evaluation Alhaji jinjiri Aliyu Kiru commended the ongoing collaboration between development partners and the Kano State Government in driving effective and efficient healthcare service delivery.

IMG 20250320 WA0251 He acknowledged the invaluable contributions of stakeholders in ensuring the success of the initiatives aimed at improving public health in the state.

The meeting also had in attendance representatives of ALGON, government agencies, and other key partners, who expressed their commitment to the successful implementation of the project.

This initiative brought the collective efforts of the government and development partners in leveraging renewable energy to strengthen the healthcare system and improve the well-being of Kano State residents.
