The Management of Refuse and Management Sanitation Board (REMASAB) has been called upon to work as a team and shun any pitfalls for accelerated development.

The Commissioner for Environment and Climate Change Dr. Dahiru Muhammad Hashim made the call during his first visit one day after he was sworn in as a commissioner.
The Commissioner said he was at the Refuse and Management Sanitation Board just to ascertain the real situation and chart a way forward with the management staff to fine-tune efficient and effective modern strategies on how best to make the state clean and tidy in line with global best practice.

“Dr. Hashim however, highlighted that the present administration is keen and desirous to the environment sector generally in view of its unique nature and direct link to the teeming populace as well as day to day activities, hence the need for concerted efforts to give the sector a holistic approach”, he emphasized.
He assured the board of government commitment to procure additional tools within a short period of time with a view to enhance operational activities of the board across the state.
Dwelling on the issues of non payment of outstanding allowances of casual staff raised by the management staff of the board, the Commissioner pledged to investigate the lingering issue with a view to finding lasting solutions.

Conducting the Commissioner round to the plants and equipments within the premises of the board, the Deputy Managing Director of the board Alh. Lamin Muktar Hassan, expressed appreciation for the Commissioner’s first visit to the board, to see things for himself and solicited for government quick intervention to address some of the pressing bottleneck issues bedeviling the smooth operation of the board.
