The Ministry has partnered with two contracted vendors, Bum Bum Universal Concept Nigeria Limited and Exxaco Nigeria Limited, to handle tax collection from seventeen mining companies. Commissioner Kachako emphasized that this initiative has the full backing of Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf.

Its primary objectives include enhancing revenue generation for both the state and local government, formalizing artisanal mining, and creating approximately 50,000 employment opportunities for community members.

On his part the Chairman of Doguwa Local Government Area, Alhaji Abdurrashid Rilwan, represented by his Deputy, Alhaji Rabiu Muhammad Tahir, urged the tax collection companies to prioritize the welfare of their staff and to ensure fair practices in their operations.

He expressed gratitude to Governor Yusuf’s initiative for establishing a specialized Ministry for effective management of the solid mineral sector in the State.

Key stakeholders in the region, including the District Head, Divisional Police Officer, and representative from the Nigeria Civil Defence Corps, pledged their cooperation in enhancing security throughout the area.

Director of Operations for Bum Bum Universal Concept Limited, Dr. Abba Ismail, along with Alhaji Nura Sagir of Exxaco Nigeria Limited, committed to organizing periodic stakeholder engagement meetings.

These meetings aim to foster collaboration and ensure that the objectives of this initiative are met effectively.

This collaborative approach really underscores the commitment of the Kano State Government to leverage its natural resources for economic growth and community development.
