The Head of Civil Service Kano State, Alhaji Abdullahi Musa has pledged for the full implementation of the Reviewed Scheme of Service and Civil Service Rules for the revitalization of state Service.

The Head of Service made the pledge while receiving a 3-volumes of the Reviewed documents from the Committee vested with the assignment to make the review under the chairmanship of retired Permanent Secretary, Alhaji Farouk Lawan Yola in his office.

He explained that the review of the documents became necessary considering the dwindling fortunes of the Civil Service, hence the need for making all the necessary updates to conform with the present realities of the Civil Service and put the system on the right track for effective delivery.

While appreciating the good work and sacrifice made by the committee members, the Head of Service described them as men of caliber whose contributions will positively impacted the state Civil Service.

Earlier Speaking, the Chairman of the committee for the review of the Scheme of service and and Civil Service Rules, retired Permanent Secretary Alhaji Farouk Lawan Yola disclosed that his committee has done so much in executing the assignment giving to them.

He pointed out that the committee has sought for cross fertilization of ideas from both retired and serving Civil servants as well as consultations from the Federal civil Service all with a view to ensure a good and clean copy is obtained that will appropriately guide the conduct of the State Civil Servants.

According to him, the review has touched certain critical areas such as enhancement of entry points into the service as it relates to certain qualifications and elongation of some terminal grades from service resulting from the abolition of GL/1 in the service.

Other areas as he outlined, include insertion of new Cadres especially with NCE resolution, changing of Nomenclatures of some cadres, changing of salary scales, inclusion of new cadres and inclusion of Disciplinary measures on Permanent Secretaries as obtained in the Federal Service among others.

Alhaji Lawan Yola who thanked the Head of the Civil Service for the confidence he reposed in them to undertake the assignment, promise to continue to lend their hands of support when ever the need arise.

In a related development, the Head of Civil Service, has earlier meet and presented appointment letters to the newly appointed Permanent Secretaries in the state, urging them to rededicate them selves to the service and have fear of God in the discharge of their new assignments.
