Saji Rano Bids Farewell to Women Affairs Ministy, Empowers 200 VVF Survivors

Commissioner for Women Affairs, Children, and Disabled, Aisha Lawal Saji Rano, has underscored the importance of pregnant women attending hospitals for antenatal care and delivery.

she emphasized, is crucial in preventing complications such as Vesico Vaginal Fistula (VVF) cases.

Speaking at the Graduation Ceremony and Empowerment of Rehabilitated Fistula Survivals, held at Kwalli Rehabilitation Center, Saji Rano encouraged women already affected by VVF to lead normal lives.

The event, organized by the Ministry of Women Affairs, Children, and Disabled, marked a significant milestone in empowering women who have survived fistula.

Saji Rano also called on male spouses to support their wives who have fallen victim to VVF.

Her remarks highlighted the need for a supportive environment, enabling women to seek medical attention and regain their dignity.

In a gesture of support, Kano State Governor, Abba Kabir Yusuf, provided empowerment funds of N30,000 each to 200 women VVF survivors.

This initiative according to her aims to promote economic independence and rehabilitation among survivors.

The graduation ceremony marked a new beginning for these women, symbolizing their triumph over adversity.

She added that as they embark on this new journey, it is essential to recognize the significance of access to quality healthcare, social support, and economic empowerment in preventing and managing VVF cases.

Saji Rano, who has been instrumental in driving initiatives that promote women’s empowerment and maternal health, will be assuming a new role as the Commissioner for Tourism and Culture. Her commitment to serving the people of Kano State remains unshakable and her legacy in the Ministry of Women Affairs, Children, and Disabled will undoubtedly have a lasting impact.
