ROGO LGA TO ESTABLISH ADDITIONAL SECURITY OFFICES TO REVIVE LOCAL ECONOMY

The Chairman of Rogo Local Government, Alhaji Abubakar Mustapha Rogo, has reaffirmed commitment to tackle security challenges affecting the area as part of efforts to revive local economy.

He stated this at a stakeholders’ meeting held at the Islamic Center in the area, presided by Kano State Commissioner of Police, CP Ibrahim Adamu Bakori.

A statement by the Information Officer of Rogo Local Government, Abdu Bako Abdullahi said the
meeting followed a directive from the Inspector General of Police, Kayode Egbetokun for such a gatherings to be held in border communities between Katsina and Kaduna states, aimed at addressing issues of kidnapping and other security threats.

The chairman expressed gratitude to the Kano State Government for its continuous support and collaboration in addressing security challenges across the state.

He also commended the Commissioner of Police for organizing the meeting at such a critical time and appealed to the state government to provide vehicles and motorcycles to boost intelligence gathering and the identification of criminals within the communities of Rogo Local Government.

He called on people of the local government to cooperate with security agencies in carrying out their duties in accordance with the law.

In his remarks, the District Head of Rogo (Dan Isan Karaye), Alhaji Garba Muhammad Bello reiterated the commitment of traditional rulers towards achieving the set objectives.

The District Head appealed to the Chairman of Rogo Local Government and the Commissioner of Police to facilitate the commissioning of two police stations built in Falgore and Zarewa as well as construction of a new one in Yanoko which lies within the Nasarawa area.

The Chairman of the Police Community Relations Committee (PCRC) in the area, Alhaji Yusuf Nadabo, praised the significant step taken and expressed his joy over the conduct of the meeting.

He also assured the support of his committee to the security agencies in ensuring lasting peace in Rogo and its neighboring communities.

In his remark, the Kano State Commissioner of Police, CP Ibrahim Adamu Bakori, represented by ACP Suleiman Aliyu Gusau said the aim of the meeting was to gather public opinions, provide recommendations, raise awareness on security matters as well as understand the roles of police operations within the community.

He urged people to support the police with credible information on any suspicious movement for effective service delivery.

The meeting was attended by all key stakeholders from Rogo Local Government and Kano State, including Councillors, Advisers, Security officials and community leaders.
