NOA Advocates for Societal reorientation To Revive Moral Values

Policy makers urge to focus on societal reorientation and reviving moral values in communities, A Senior Lecturer in the department  of Social sciences at College of Education and Preliminary Studies (KSACEPS) known as CAS kano Dr. Abdulkadir Ahmed Jogana said spending more funds on capital projects will not make impact.

He stated this during a public awareness campaign on security consciousness, moral values and importance of protecting human rights organized by the National Orientation Agency, Kano State Head office held at KSACEPS in Kano metropolis. 

The Academic adviser of Ahmadu Bello University Zaria, distance learning Dr. Abdulhadir Ahmed Jogana, who presented a paper on national reorientation and national development, said national development policies will be effective if the community is educated, emulate moral values, contributes on government policies, as well as patriotism and understanding the current situations.

In his speech, the Commissioner of Police, Salman Dogo Garba, who was represented by the Assistance Commissioner of Police, Mannir Madugu, said the current situation shows that everyone should be aware of their neighbours, to partner with security personnels, security vigilant especially in public places or far way places for self protection and that of the entire community.

He also called on the community to get contact numbers of security heads in their areas and to leave their phones charged with Airtime especially in the night in case of emergency calls. 

He also asked the community to support security officers in their area and inform them whenever they see signs of threats to peace.

Earlier, the State Director National Orientation Agency Malam Rabi’u Ado, said the aimed of the event is to educate the community, especially students, on strategies to protect themselves and the community from immoral act and security techniques for peaceful coexistence.

Some of the students from tertiary institutions who participated in the event expressed their satisfaction with the knowledge they have acquired.

The event was attended by traditional rulers and various community development organizations.
