The State Governor Engr.Abba Kabir Yusuf has reaffirm his commitment to developing Education sector as well as empowering women in becoming self reliant.
The Governor who was represented by the commissioner of Information and internal Affairs Baba Halilu Dantiye stated this during the celebration of international Girl child day organized by the State NAWOJ held at the press center.
He emphasized on parents especially women not to relent to properly monitor the performance of their children both in Western and Islamic schools.
The Commissioner urge women to instill morality in their children as these will pave way for a well mannered society in general.
On her part the chairperson of Nigeria association of women journalists (NAWOJ) Kano state chapter, malama Bahijja malam kabara said the sole aim of the events was to show love and compassion for women in achieving their set goals in the state.
In her address, Hajiya Salma Yusuf from Freedom Radio gave a presentation on the role of women for the development of the society.
In another development, Nawoj visited School of Hygiene to celebrate the international girl child Day with along with the Students.
While a maulid session was chaired by Malama Hauwa Salisu Gaya who briefly traced the history of prophet Muhammad (S.A.W) during his childhood and his life time.
