In his good will message, the commissioner of health, Dr Abubakar Labaran Yusuf said the successes recorded on the open defecation campaigns has reduce the cases of waterborne diseases in Kano.

Open Defecation Campaign is a global campaign to stop people from defecating on the streets or any place; except in the toilets.

Any local government council or state that attains the ODF, it means over 95 percent of the people in the areas are not defecating outside.
