By Comrade Sulaiman Dederi, Public Relations Officer

the Kano State Pilgrims Welfare Board has inaugurated a nine-member Hadaya Committee to oversee the coordination and management of Hadaya for intending pilgrims for the 2026 Hajj exercise.

Speaking during the inauguration ceremony held today at the Board’s Conference Hall, the Director General of the Kano State Pilgrims Welfare Board, Alhaji Lamin Rabi’u Danbappa, charged committee members to work diligently and responsibly in order to achieve the objectives set by the Board.

Alhaji Lamin Rabi’u explained that Hadaya is a compulsory act of worship (Ibadah) for intending pilgrims performing Tamattu’i and kirani.

He emphasized the importance of proper registration for Hadaya through the committee, describing it as a safe and reliable means for pilgrims to fulfill this obligation.

In his remarks, the Chairman of the Board of Directors, Alhaji Yusuf Lawan, urged members of the committee to leverage their wealth of experience in the discharge of their duties to ensure transparency, efficiency, and success.

Responding on behalf of the committee, the Chairman of the Hadaya Committee, Alhaji Abdullahi Kabir Yusuf, disclosed that the committee has already commenced discussions with two companies in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia for the procurement of rams for pilgrims at affordable prices.

He further informed pilgrims who wish to pay for Hadaya in Nigerian currency that the cost has been set at Two Hundred and Fifty Thousand Naira (₦250,000) only, subject to the prevailing exchange rate of the Saudi Riyal upon arrival in Saudi Arabia.

The Hadaya Committee is composed of the following members:

Alhaji Abdullahi Kabir Yusuf – Chairman

Sheikh Tijjani Sani Maihula – Member

Sheikh Isma’il Ilyasu Mangu – Member

Hajiya Batulu Isa Waziri – Member

Hajiya Halima Aliyu – Member

Hajiya Maryam Abubakar – Member

Alhaji Habibu Idris Bichi – Member

Alhaji Salisu Haruna Makoda – Member

Alhaji Umar Yakubu Kabara – Secretary

The Board reassures intending pilgrims of its commitment to ensuring a smooth, transparent, and spiritually fulfilling Hajj exercise.
