The Forum of Information Officers under the Ministry of Information and Internal Affairs has elected new executives following a two-day training workshop for Information Officers from the 44 Local Government Areas of Kano State, held at Grand Central Hotel in Kano.

The newly elected executives are:
1. Jamilu Mustapha Yakasai – Chairman
2. Munzali Muhammad Hausawa – Vice Chairman
3. Sharif Zahardeen Usman (Kofar Nassarawa) – Secretary
4. Tasi’u Yahaya (Dadin Duniya) – Treasurer
5. Audu Bako Abdullahi – Assistant Secretary
6. Sani Muhammad – Financial Secretary
7. Auwalu Musa Yola – Assistant Financial Secretary.
8. Arbabatu Sani Abubakar – Auditor
9. Adamu Iliyasu Hotoro – Publicity Secretary.
Other elected members include:
– Muntari Usman Romi
– Haruna Bala Muhammad Gunduwawa
– Abdullahi Musa Gyadi-Gyadi.
– Hassan Muhammad
– Muhammad Salisu (ex-officio members)
In his speech the newly elected Chairman, Jamilu Mustapha Yakasai, called for unity and collaboration among all members to achieve meaningful progress, especially in disseminating government programs and policies at the grassroots level.
He then ,expressed gratitude to Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf, Commissioner for Information, Comrade Abdullahi Ibrahim Waiya, Commissioner for Local Government, Alhaji Tajo Othman Zaura,Permanent Secretary of the Ministry, Alhaji Adamu Bala,Director of Public Enlightenment, Alhaji Idris Zakariyau,Other directors for their support in organizing the training.
Yakasai pledged to work closely with the Ministry of Information in supporting government policies and programs under the leadership of Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf.
He is also committed to ensuring all members of the forum are dedicated to achieving the set goals.
