The Kano State Government said it’s committed and willing to collaborate with any relevant investors for Environmental Sustainability as part of efforts to promote sustainable waste management practices in the state.
In a press statement issued by the Director public Enlightenment Ministry of Environment and Climate Change, Kano State Ismail Garba Gwammaja.
The Commissioner of Environment and Climate Change, Dr. Dahiru M. Hashim made the disclosure today during a visit to Zaura Composting Site, in ungogo local government area.
During the visit, the Commissioner inspected the facilities and some equipment available at the site, charged the technical team to do the needful to come up with immediate requirements to actualize the huge investment, he added.
He said if the site is fully functional it would convert waste into valuable compost.
He emphasized the importance of composting in reducing waste disposal challenges and promoting environmental Sustainability.
The visit to the Zaura Composting Site is a testament to the Commissioner’s dedication to exploring innovative solutions to environmental challenges.
“The state government remains committed to working with stakeholders to promote a cleaner, healthier, and more sustainable environment for all.”
Meanwhile the Commissioner also visited the Pollution Control Laboratory situated at farm center, which is under renovation and expressed appreciation for the speedy and quality of the work so far been done and urged the contractor to maintain the tempo.
