The Association of Nigerian Geographers, ANG holding its 65th Annual Conference in Kano with the theme “Navigating Physical Vulnerability, Economic Disparity and Social Inequality in Developing Countries.”
The event which will bring together scholars and experts from across the country, is taking place from the 5th to the 9th of October at the Professor Hafizu Abubakar Auditorium, Gidan Ado Bayero, City Campus, Kofar Nasarawa, Kano.
Chief Host of the conference is the Vice Chancellor of Northwest University, Professor Mukhtar Atiku Kurawa, while the Chairman of the Occasion is Professor Ado Mukhtar, Deputy Vice Chancellor of Aliko Dangote University of Science and Technology, Wudil.
The Keynote Speaker is Professor Adamu Idris Tanko, Vice Chancellor of Baba Ahmad University, Kano.
Lead paper presenters
Professor Aliyu Baba Nabegu from the Department of Geography, Aliko Dangote University of Science and Technology, and Professor Aliyu Salisu Barau from the Department of Urban and Regional Planning, Bayero University, Kano.
Special Guest of Honour is His Excellency, Alhaji Abba Kabir Yusuf, Executive Governor of Kano State, while the Guest of Honour is His Excellency, Comrade Aminu Abdulsalam Gwarzo, Deputy Governor of Kano State and Commissioner for Higher Education.
The Royal Father of the Day is His Highness, Dr. Muhammad Sunusi, the Emir of Kano and Khalifan Tijjaniyyah.
The conference is expected to provide a platform for academics and policymakers to discuss challenges and proffer solutions to pressing developmental issues facing developing nations.
