WAIYA URGES PATRONAGE OF STATE PRINTING PRESS TO BOOST IGR

Kano State Commissioner for Information and Internal Affairs, Comrade Ibrahim Abdullahi Waiya, has called on government ministries, agencies, and private organizations within the state to prioritize patronizing the Kano State Printing Press to enhance its internally generated revenue and ensure its full operational capacity.

This was issued in a press statement by the Director special duties Sani Abba yola.

The Commissioner made this appeal during a familiarization visit to the state-owned Printing Press.

He emphasized the importance of supporting the institution, noting that increased patronage would not only revitalize the facility but also improve its financial sustainability.

Comrade Waiya expressed his dismay over the vandalism of the Printing Press by some individuals, describing their actions as counterproductive to the state’s progress.

He urged the Managing Director to explore ways to attract contracts from other states and private organizations to further expand its revenue base.

While commending the ongoing renovation work at the Printing Press, the Commissioner reiterated his commitment to the welfare and training of staff, which he believes will create better working conditions and improve overall productivity.

In his welcome address, the Managing Director of the Kano State Printing Press, Yahaya Muhammad Idris, highlighted the challenges faced by the institution.

He revealed that upon his assumption of office, the Printing Press was non-operational for six months.

Through his efforts, the machines were repaired, and operations resumed before the unfortunate incident of vandalism forced the facility into its current state of renovation.

The Managing Director further stated that staff welfare has been improved through a cooperative society, along with increased and prompt payment for casual staff. 

He appealed to the Commissioner to advocate for government agencies that are yet to patronize the Printing Press to start doing so in order to boost revenue generation.

drs expressed profound gratitude to Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf for prioritizing the renovation of the Printing Press, describing it as a clear indication of the Governor’s commitment to the institution’s progress.
