In recognition of his remarkable commitment to transparency, effective communication, and support for grassroots information dissemination, the Kano State branch of the Association of Local Government Information Officers of Nigeria (ALGION) has presented an Award of Excellence to the Chairman of Tarauni Local Government Council, Alhaji Ahmad Ibrahim Sekure.
The award celebrates his outstanding contributions to strengthening the council’s information unit and promoting effective public enlightenment on the achievements and initiatives of the council.

Similarly, Awards of Excellence were also conferred on the Director of Personnel Management (DPM) of Tarauni Local Government, Alhaji Tijjani Madaki Gulya, and the Head of Social Development Department, Hajiya Gambo Abdullahi, for their unwavering support towards the council’s information activities and consistent collaboration with the information unit.
Speaking during the event, the Chairman of ALGION Kano State Chapter, Jamilu Mustafa Yakasai, commended the leadership of Tarauni Local Government for setting an exemplary standard in communication and transparency. He urged other local government chairmen across the state to emulate the Tarauni model of partnership and accountability.
Representing the State Commissioner for Information and Internal Affairs, Comrade Ibrahim Abdullahi Waiya, the Director of Public Enlightenment at the Ministry, Alhaji Idris Zakariyya’u Zaura, applauded the awardees for their outstanding dedication and commitment to advancing information services within the local government system.
In his response, the Council Chairman, Alhaji Ahmad Ibrahim Sekure, reaffirmed the council’s unwavering commitment to maintaining an open-door policy that encourages efficiency, professionalism, and transparency among staff.
Also speaking, the Vice Chairman of Tarauni Local Government, Khalid Ayuba, expressed heartfelt appreciation to ALGION for recognizing and celebrating the dedication of Tarauni’s local officials in promoting public awareness of government policies and programs.
