NYG 2025: KANO TEAM ALL SET FOR NORTH WEST ZONAL ELIMINATION GAMES

A total of 150 Kano State contingent have arrived Kaduna safely to attend the 9th edition of Northwest Zonal Elimination ahead of the National Youth Games (NYG) 2025 scheduled to hold in Asaba, Delta State from August 26 to September 6.elimination.

The Ag. Chairman of Kano State Sports Commission, Alhaji Ibrahim Umar Fagge, said the team comprises Male and female athletes across seven sports disciplines: Football, Handball, Hockey, Volleyball, Basketball, Rugby and cricket.

With a contingent strength of approximately over 150 members, including athletes, coaches, team officials, drivers, media representatives, and secretaries, Kano is aiming for full qualification in all events to ensure vigorous representation at the youth edition of the National Sports Festival.

Speaking before departure, Alhaji Ibrahim Umar Fagge expressed confidence in the team’s readiness:

The elimination rounds will run from August 15 to August 19, serving as a crucial test for the athletes before the national competition in Delta State, Fagge said.

The Northwest zone state include Kano, Kaduna, Katsina, Kebbi, Jigawa, Sokoto and Zamfara will compete in the team event games at Murtala Muhammad Square and Ahmadu Bello Stadium Kano.

The proper games are scheduled to take place from August 26th to September 6th in Asaba, the capital city of Delta State.
