National Orientation agency sensitized Bunkure community on national anthem and national value charter.

The National Orientation Agency have taken the sensitization campaign to school, traditional leaders, artisans and the general public on the importance of the national anthem and national value charter.

In her remarks the Community orientation and mobilization officer (c.o.m.o) Mrs Grace Musa lamented that lately Nigerians have seen to have put aside our norms, tradition, where corruption have eaten deep in us and above all the spirit of brotherhood have long been put aside.

Relating her message as it is from the NOA national office, she said the present administration under the leadership of the Director General of National Orientation Agency Mallam Lanre Issa-Onilu saw the need for the re-newed National Anthem and National Value Charter to bring Nigerians back to status – co, by making Nigeria a better place to live, where peace and security and other good things can be assured.

The Acting district head (wakili) of Bunkure, Alh. Nasiru Umar, commended the Government for initiating this programme and called it timely, and implore the Government to assist his people with more soft loans that would reach the masses at grass root level for their businesses to strive and that Government at all levels should respect the rule of law.

Subsequently, Mrs Musa move the sensitization campaigns to the district head palace of Bunkure, upper Base Model Secondary school and  Central primary school in Gurgiya.

Mean while places also visited include motor cycle and motor mechanics parks, artisans like iron welders , black smiths (makera), and dyeing – pit( marina) areas.

The Ward heads of Gurjiya/Jallurawa as well as the village head of Kulluwa and the places of worship were all reached during the sensitization campaign.

The COMO, also commented that there is need for more sensitization campaign in schools because it was observed that the students/pupils and their teachers are not familiar with the new lyrics of the National Anthem.

She however said that the National Value Charter will help in uniting the country, as each citizen is expected to know his/her role to the Government as well as the Government role on her citizens in other to foster the Nation forward.

As more sensitization is required in hard to reach areas of the LGA especially the Nomadic Settlement since the major aim is to unify Nigerians.
