The fourth edition of the Nigerian Chief of Air Staff Peace Cup football competition is a concept for an annual football tournament between selected teams of Under 20 from all the 36 states, including Abuja, which will be continued as one of the non-kinetic approaches in the war against all criminal activities in the country.

The host commander of the 455 Base Services, Group Captain Mustapha Sulaiman, said the Nigerian Air Force adopted the non-kinetic approach against insurgency, drug abuse and other things, following the realization of the desire to change the Negative attitude of some youth who have been brainwashed and later are aspiring to be future leaders of tomorrow.

Group Captain M. Sulaiman said they choose football as one of the sports that bring excitement to people and also bring them together as a whole family.

Earlier, the commander highlighted the meaningful strategies that had been introduced by Nigerian Air Marshal Hassan Balla Abubakar, who is the current and the 22nd Chief of Air Staff, and Air Vice Marshal A.Y. Abdullahi, Air Officer Commanding Air Training Command, Nigerian Air Force, for using “non-kinetic approaches to change the youth’s bad attitude into positivity.

The Nigerian Air Force involves collaboration between the Nigerian Army, Navy and other security agencies to put hands together along with the Nigerian Police to maintain peace by protecting the lives and properties of the entire people of our great nation,” he stressed.

The annual sport activities aim at bringing unity among youths in the nation by making sure that the Nigerian Air Force is not only achieving the sustainable security of the nation by its Kinetic approach but also through the provision of non-kinetic approaches such as medical service outreach to the public, sporting activities, and many other packages that will enhance the cordial relationship between the society and the armed forces in general.

The Nigerian Air force Base 455 Services, which is presently hosting the African Youth Sports Federation U20 Peace Cup in Kano State is a welcome development as the competition will provide the much needed opportunity for the youths in the state.

The 1st and 2nd positions will represent Nigeria at the World U20 Peace Football competition in lisbon, Portugal.

The competition will run from November 10th  to December 7th, 2024, at Kano Pillars Stadium and Sani Abacha Stadium, respectively, bringing together the best U20 football teams from across the nation.
