Kano State Commissioner for Information, Baba Halilu Dantiye, has assured the Kano State Laundry and Dry Cleaners Association of the government’s commitment to supporting their growth and empowering them for greater self-reliance.
This was issued in a press statement by the Director special duties Abba Yola.
The Commissioner made this pledge during a courtesy visit by the association to his office.
During the visit, the Commissioner lauded the association’s contributions to society, emphasizing that their services are essential for maintaining cleanliness and hygiene.
He encouraged the association to modernize their business operations to attract more customers and enhance their economic development.
“The state government recognizes your vital role in ensuring cleanliness and providing employment opportunities.
We are committed to supporting you and helping you become more self-reliant,” the Commissioner stated.
Earlier, the Chairman of the Kano State Laundry and Dry Cleaners Association, Comrade Rabiu Bala Lambu highlighted the challenges faced by members of the association and appealed for the government’s intervention.
He called for the inclusion of their members in government empowerment programmes, particularly in the provision of essential tools such as pressing irons, tables, packing bags, washing machines, and the construction of laundry centers equipped with boreholes.
Comrade Lambu also noted the association’s significant contribution to economic development in Kano State, particularly by creating employment opportunities for the youth.
