KHETFUND Conducts Post-Funding Verification Visit to Imam Wali General Hospital

The Kano State Health Trust Fund (KHETFUND) has carried out a post-funding verification visit to Imam Wali General Hospital, Kano, to confirm the successful installation and functionality of a solar power system across key service areas of the hospital.

The solar energy project, amounting to N24,667,000 released on 30th July 2025, was funded by KHETFUND as part of its commitment to strengthening healthcare infrastructure and ensuring uninterrupted service delivery, covers the Labour Room, Accident & Emergency (A&E), Laboratory, and Pharmacy Units.

During the verification exercise, which took place on Wednesday 5th November 2025, the KHETFUND team, led by the Director Operations Dr. Lawan Adamu who represented the Executive Secretary Dr. Fatima Usman Zahraddeen, inspected the installed systems to ensure compliance with project specifications, functionality, and sustainability standards.

Speaking during the visit, Dr. Zahraddeen commended the hospital management for effective execution of the project, noting that reliable electricity supply is crucial for quality healthcare delivery.

The Medical Director of Imam Wali General Hospital, who was represented by the Hospital Secretary Sani Ado Abdullahi, expressed appreciation to KHETFUND and the Kano State Government headed by Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf for their continuous support in improving the hospital’s infrastructure and service quality.

He noted that the solar installation has already improved patient care, reduced power interruptions, and lowered operational costs.

KHETFUND’s post-funding verification visits have formed part of its accountability and sustainability framework, aimed at ensuring transparency in the utilization of public health funds and verifying that all funded projects meet their intended goals

With this project, KHETFUND reaffirms its commitment to achieving accessible, reliable, and sustainable healthcare services across Kano State through innovative funding and infrastructure development initiatives.
