Khairun University Unveils New Sports Complex

The Vice Chancellor of Khairun University, Professor Abdulrashid Garba has officially launched new Basketball and Tennis courts at the University Sports Complex.

Speaking at the launch the sports loving Vice Chancellor said the University has various sports facilities such as Five aside Arena, Table Tennis and badminton at the University.

He also said that Khairun University has registered with the Nigerian University Games Association (NUGA) in order to participate in the next coming university games in 2025.

In his remark, the Guest Speaker Prof. A.A Musa Garba Yakasai of Bayero university Kano, appreciated the current administration of the University for combining education with sports.

“This is my first time to see a private university with enough sporting facilities and pitches, Professor A.A Musa Garba Yakasai said.”

In a short remark the register of the University, Malam Yusuf Datti, said the idea to combine sports with education was in recognition of the fact that sports is a lucrative business globally.

“We should preach to our sporting students that they must marry sports with education for a better tomorrow” Yusuf Datti said.

On his part, the Director Technical of Kano State Sports Commission, Malam Garba Shehu, promised to give the University all the necessary support interm of advice and coaches for the preparation of NUGA Games among others.

Among the dignitaries that attended the occasion are Professor Mustapha Isa Dean PG School Bayero university, Kano, Sports, Sports Director Khairun University Aisha Dauda and Director of Sports Yusuf Maitama Sule University Kano.
