The class 82 of Kano Science Schools Old Students Association, KASSOSA Dawakin Tofa, has appealed to the Kano State Government to give priority attention in revitalizing it’s science secondary schools as part of it’s declaration of state of emergency on Education.
Chairman of the chapter, Alh Yahaya Abba Kazaure said the call becomes necessary in view of the realities in the science world.

He described the declaration of state of emergency on education by Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf as appropriate due to the sorrowful condition of education in Kano state.

He called for infrastructural renewal in the science schools, employment of qualified staff and provision of relevant facilities.

At it’s 2024 Annual General Meeting held in the premises of Kano State Ministry of Works and infrastructure, the association also expressed concern over the high rate of drug abuse especially in Northern part of the country. ”Kassosa therefore wants urgent and drastic measures to be taken by stakeholders to arrest the unfortunate situation.

”Alh, Yahaya Abba Kazaure stressed the need to put in place effective strategies in addressing the menace which has negative consequences on all spheres of human endeavor.

He lamented that according to reports a large quantities of dangerous drugs smuggled into the country are targeting the North where gullible members of the public including married women fall victims off the illicit trade.

He then stressed the need for the state government and other stakeholders to step up efforts in addressing the concerns in the science schools due to their significance in socio economic development.
He said the class chapter had put in place an effective mechanism for career counseling to students of the science schools to achieve desired results.
