In a significant step toward strengthening healthcare delivery, more local government areas of Tofa, Gwarzo, Karaye, Rogo, Kiru, Rano, Bunkure, Kura, and Garun Malam have successfully been integrated into the ongoing data documentation and routine immunization initiative.

In a press  statement issued by the Public Relations Officer (PHIMA) Binta Kabir Usman

The statement said, This expansion marks a critical milestone in the Government’s commitment to ensuring comprehensive immunization coverage and accurate health data management.

The ongoing exercise, spearheaded by PHIMA and supported by key stakeholders, aims to enhance the accuracy of immunization records and improve vaccine accessibility for children in underserved Communities.

By expanding coverage, the initiative seeks to reduce the incidence of preventable diseases and improve overall public health outcomes.

Speaking on the development,  Prof Salisu Ahmed Ibrahim,  Director-General of the Kano State Private Health Institutions Management Agency (PHIMA), stated that;

“The inclusion of more LGAs in this documentation and immunization drive is a testament to our dedication to protecting children from vaccine-preventable diseases.

Through precise data collection and efficient vaccine distribution, we are ensuring that no child is left behind.”

The documentation process involves rigorous data verification, household tracking and enhanced coordination with local healthcare workers to improve immunization outreach.

Health officials urge parents and guardians to take advantage of this program as it is an opportunity of ensuring their children receive the necessary vaccinations as part of the national immunization schedule.

Authorities also acknowledge and appreciate the support of community leaders, health workers, and partner organizations in facilitating this initiative.

Their collaboration has been instrumental in overcoming challenges such as vaccine hesitancy and logistical constraints.

As the exercise continues, stakeholders remain committed to leveraging technology and Community engagement strategies to sustain progress and achieve full immunization coverage across the State.
