Kano Nawoj Honors Former information perm sec

The Nigeria Association of Women Journalists (NAWOJ) Kano State Chapter, in collaboration with the Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ) Information Chapel, hosted a send-off party in honor of the former Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Information, Hajiya Hafsat Ilyas Aliyu. The event highlighted mentorship as a vital tool for fostering professional development in the society.

In a press statement issued by the secretary of Nawoj Kano council comrd Maryam Muhd yakasai

In her opening remarks, the Chairperson of NAWOJ Kano State Chapter, Sayyida Bahijja Kabara, welcomed attendees and expressed appreciation for their presence.

She underscored the significance of mentorship in nurturing future leaders and acknowledged Hajiya Hafsat’s remarkable contributions to the journalism profession.

She wished the celebrant a safe and successful journey as she embarks on a new phase of her life.  

Speaking at the occasion, former Commissioner for Information, Baba Halilu Dantiye, emphasized the importance of mentorship in shaping the next generation of professionals.

He urged senior officers to emulate the exemplary leadership and dedication demonstrated by Hajiya Hafsat, describing her as a beacon of hope for the betterment of tomorrow.

Hajiya Maryam Yarima, speaking on behalf of Hajiya Hafsat’s friends, described her as a hardworking and dedicated woman who has inspired many.

Similarly, the Chairman of the Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ), Comrade Sulaiman Abdullahi Dederi, praised Hajiya Hafsat as a role model whose contributions to the journalism profession will remain invaluable.  

The National Secretary of NAWOJ, Comrade Wasila Ladan, along with the Zonal National Trustee, Hajiya Halima Musa, extended their best wishes on behalf of the national body, wishing Hajiya Hafsat a fulfilling and colorful life ahead.  

In an emotional moment, AbdulRahman Isa, the firstborn of Hajiya Hafsat, expressed gratitude to NAWOJ and NUJ for organizing the event.

He vowed to uphold the family’s legacy in journalism, inspired by his mother’s commitment and accomplishments.

Responding to the accolades, the celebrant, Hajiya Hafsat Ilyas Aliyu, expressed profound gratitude to her family, friends, and colleagues for their support throughout her career.

She extended her best wishes to everyone and prayed for their continued success.  

The event served as a reminder of the impact of mentorship and the legacy of dedicated professionals like Hajiya Hafsat in building a thriving society.
