The Dawakin Tofa Local Government Council has begun distributing business support grants worth N100,000 each to 200 residents, in an intervention facilitated by Deputy Senate President Barau Jibrin.

Speaking at the launch, Council Chairman Alhaji Anas Mukhtar Bello Danmaliki said the total N20 million disbursement is aimed at improving the socioeconomic wellbeing of households in the area.

He urged beneficiaries to use the funds wisely, noting that prudent management would help ease hardship caused by the current economic situation.

He warned against spending the money unnecessarily, stressing that the grants are meant to strengthen beneficiaries’ economic base.

Danmaliki said all 200 recipients were selected across the area’s political wards strictly on merit. He also called on them to reciprocate the gesture by supporting the APC in the upcoming elections, adding that “one good turn deserves another.”

The chairman assured DSP Barau Jibrin of Dawakin Tofa’s continued support, citing what he described as his quality representation.

Representing DSP Barau Jibrin, Alhaji Hafiz Imam listed other empowerment programmes the senator has facilitated in Dawakin Tofa, including livestock distribution, laptops, solar-powered devices, youth business capital, and fertilizer.

He said the interventions are designed to boost the local economy and improve welfare, and urged residents to continue supporting President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and the APC.
