The AHBN-Kano team, led by their Advocacy and Accountability Specialist (Aqibu Hamisu) recently conducted a stakeholder engagement meeting with key health officials in Kano State.
The delegation met with Dr. Abdullahi, Deputy Director of Public Health and Incident Manager of the Emergency Operations Center (EOC), along with the Coordinators for Maternal, Newborn and Child Health (MNCH) and Family Planning (FP).
The meeting focused on discussing the state government’s progress toward achieving its FP2030 Commitments and identifying potential areas for collaboration.
The AHBN team emphasized evidence-based advocacy particularly in the areas of funding, service delivery, and accountability mechanisms.
In response, Dr. Abdullahi expressed appreciation for AHBN’s timely intervention and commitment to supporting the state’s efforts to improve MNCH and FP health indicators.
He pledged to engage all relevant stakeholders to ensure coordinated efforts with the AHBN team.
representatives from the AHBN team, including Sulaiman Jalo, Zainab Nasir (YOSPIS), and Nafisa Shehu (CHR), commended the ministry for its open-door policy and willingness to collaborate with partners.
They reaffirmed AHBN’s commitment to maintaining momentum in helping Kano State fulfill its healthcare service delivery commitments.
