Ungogo Local Government has taken a significant step in protecting children from violence and abuse by inaugurating 84 child-based community protection structures.
Performing the inauguration of the committee held at primary health care centre in Rangaza, the Chairman Alhaji Tijjani Amiru Bilyaminu describe these structures aim to prevent rape and other forms of violence against children, and are part of the local government’s efforts to combat women trafficking.
Chairman Alhaji Tijjani Amiru Bilyaminu emphasized the importance of community involvement in protecting children, urging parents to monitor their children’s situations and calling on committee members to work with traditional leaders to ensure the program’s success.
In his remarks the Head of community social development department, Muhd Umar Adam said this initiative aligns with global efforts to promote community-based protection, which recognizes the critical role communities play in protecting their members.
The representative of primary health care coordinator, Hajiya Umma Aminu commended the local government chairman of his concern to health care services at all times.
The members of the committee Sale Usman and Hajiya Maryam promised to work towards achieving the desired goals.
