PCACC Validates 2024-2028 Anti-Corruption Strategy Document

The Kano State Public Complaints and Anti-Corruption Commission, in collaboration with the Rule of Law and Anti-Corruption (RoLAC) program, has successfully validated the Kano Anti-Corruption Strategy Document for 2024-2028. The event, held in Porto Golf Hotel Kano, brought together key stakeholders from various sectors to deliberate on the successes, challenges, and future pathways for combating corruption in the state.

The validation ceremony featured participation from representatives of traditional institutions, Ministries, Departments, and Agencies (MDAs), as well as Civil Society Organizations (CSOs). These diverse groups contributed valuable insights and recommendations to ensure the effectiveness and sustainability of the new strategy.

Speaking at the event, the chairman of Kano State Public Complaints and Anti-Corruption Commission Barrister Muhuyi Magaji Rimingado represented by the Legal Secretary of the commission Barrister Zahraddin Kofar Mata emphasized the importance of collaborative efforts in tackling corruption, stating, the fight against corruption requires collective commitment and this strategy document is a reflection of the shared resolve to build a transparent and accountable Kano State.

He said the validated strategy document outlines actionable steps to address systemic corruption, promote good governance, and strengthen public confidence in government institutions adding that it serves as a road-map for ensuring accountability and integrity across all sectors in Kano State.

Muhuyi Magaji Rimingado expressed the commission’s gratitude to RoLAC for its unwavering support in developing and refining the strategy, as well as to all participants for their contributions during the validation process.

The document titled Anti-Corruption Strategy Implementation: Successes, Challenges, and the Way Forward was presented by head of the Secretariat of the commission Isah Mansur Bello, highlighting the progress made so far and the strategic measures necessary to enhance transparency and accountability in governance.

The implementation of the 2024-2028 Anti-Corruption Strategy is expected to create a robust framework for fostering transparency and promoting the rule of law in Kano State.
