Kano State Government has approved the inauguration of a committee to proffer workable advice on how to utilize Kofar Mata Eid Ground for the benefits of the general public.
In a press statement issued by the information officer Musa Tanko.
Inaugurating the committee in his office, the Secretary to the State Government, Alhaji Umar Farouq Ibrahim explained that, the state government took the decision to checkmate the activities of some elements posing danger to the people of the state especially in the night.
Alhaji Umar Farouq Ibrahim stressed that the present administration was concerned about this and would not fold its arms to allow threat to the people.
According to him, government would not relent in its efforts until the matter was solved.
The committee is chaired by the Managing Director,KNUPDA, Arc. Ibrahim Yakubu , while Aliyu Muhammad Sani, Director Research and Evaluation, REPA Directorate is the secretary
Other members of the committee are:
Hon. Ahmad Tijjani Auwal, Commissioner, Ministry of Religious Affairs, AVM Ibrahim Umar (rtd), DG. Special Service Directorate, Dr Zaid Abubakar, Chairman, Kano Internal Revenue Service (KIRS), and Hon. Hamisu Dogon Nama. MD, Kantin Kwari Market.
Other members are
Hadiza Sani Gadanya, Special Adviser, Land Matters, Auwal Rabiu, Ministry of Land and Survey, Alhaji Abba Yusuf Danmakwayo, Emirate Council, and Hon. AbdurRahman Abubakar Gobirawa, SSA Market
The remaining are Engr. Muktari Usman Kiru, Ministry of works and Housing, Hon. Saleem Hashim, Chairman Kano Municipal LGA, Alhaji Adamu Gyaranya, Sheikh Nasiru Kabara Market Association, and Aminu Ibrahim, Under Secretary REPA, SSG’s Office as co-secretary.
The Chairman of the Committee, Alhaji Ibrahim Yakubu expressed appreciation to His Excellency, Alhaji Abba Kabir Yusuf for the confidence reposed in them and assured that they would work diligently towards coming up with satisfactory results within the timeframe.
