About 200 Women benefited from an empowerment scheme courtesy of the
Chairman of Dala Local Government Council, Alhaji Suraj Ibrahim Imam, Under the scheme each beneficiary went home with a gift of ₦50,000 aimed at promoting their socio economic wellbeing thereby lessening their over dependence on their respective male spouses particularly during the holy month of Ramadan.
Speaking Alhaji Suraj Ibrahim Imam stated that the beneficiaries were carefully selected from the twelve (12) wards of Dala Local Government, with the approval of the Executive Governor of Kano State

He explained that the empowerment programme was conceived in 2019, but its implementation became possible in 2023 following the assumption of office by the present state administration.
Since then, the programme has been conducted periodically, enabling many women to benefit from it.

The Chairman urged those that have not been selected in this phase to exercise patience as according to him their turn will come sooner than later as the scheme is continuous.
He cautioned that in no circumstances official or leader has the outright authority to demand any portion of the grant, stressing that beneficiaries are to utilize the funds strictly for their own good.

Alhaji Suraj also prayed to Allah to accord the Executive Governor of Kano State a second mandate come 2027 for the continuation of impactful and people-oriented programmes statewide.
He commended Kano Proper, under the leadership of Alhaji Uwaisu Maiturare, for their efforts in ensuring the successful implementation of the empowerment scheme.

Some of the beneficiaries, including Malama Zainab Sulaiman Muhammad and Fatima Alasan Abdullahi, expressed their appreciation for the gesture and pledged to utilize the funds judiciously to improve their businesses.
The event was attended by the APC Chairman of Dala, Alhaji Dayyabu, CRC Chairman Dala, Alhaji Shehu Tariga, the House Leader of Dala, Advisers, and other top dignitaries.
