A Kano indigene, Ummulsalma Isyaka Rabi’u, appointed as Commissioner, Corporate Services of the Federal Competition and Consumer Protection Commission, FCCPC, by President Bola Tinubu has assumed duty at the organization’s headquarters in Abuja.
In a statement she posted on her X handle on Monday, Ummulsalma promised to contribute hugely towards improvement of consumer protection in the country.
She marked the start of jer tenure with a familiarization tour across the Commission’s departments and units.
The visit, according to her, allowed her to interact with staff, gain direct insights into the Commission’s operations, ongoing projects, and key areas needing strategic focus.
According to Ummulsalma, her appointment marks a new phase in advancing the Commission’s mandate, with a strong emphasis on improving institutional efficiency.
She also restated her commitment to strengthening consumer protection, and promoting a culture of professionalism and excellence within the Corporate Services Directorate of the FCCPC.
“Today, August 25, 2025, I officially began my role as the Executive Commissioner, Corporate Services of the Federal Competition and Consumer Protection Commission (FCCPC) at its headquarters in Abuja.
“To mark the start of my tenure, I conducted a thorough familiarization tour across the Commission’s departments and units. This visit allowed me to interact with staff, gain direct insights into the Commission’s operations, ongoing projects, and key areas needing strategic focus.
“I was warmly welcomed by the management and staff, who committed to fully supporting me in effectively carrying out my duties.
“My appointment marks a new phase in advancing the Commission’s mandate, with a strong emphasis on improving institutional efficiency, strengthening consumer protection, and promoting a culture of professionalism and excellence within the Corporate Services Directorate of the FCCPC,” she said.
