Kano State Government has reiterated its commitment to improve the system of Qur’anic Education in the state.

The Statement said the Commissioner of Education Gwani Dr. Ali Haruna Makoda gave the assurance when he received the Executive Members of Parent Teachers Association of Government Tahfeezul Qur’an Secondary School Kiru who paid him a courtesy visit in his office.
Dr. Ali Makoda noted that Qur’anic Education is one of the key area where the present administration continues to be prioritize by ensuring that Qur’anic and Islamiyya Schools get conducive learning environment.
Makoda represented by the Permanent Secretary of the Ministry Alhaji Bashir Baffa Muhammad who underscored the significance of Qur’anic recitation in bringing peace and stability among muslim ummah, stressed that government would continue to support the system to produce better society.
” This administration has done a lot in terms of provision of infrastructures in schools, integrating Islamiyya, Qur’anic and Tsangaya Education System to ensure access to quality Islamic and western education in the state “he said.
Regarding the forthcoming Qur’anic graduation of Government Tahfeezul Qur’an Secondary School Kiru, the Commissioner described the event as timely and assured of the ministry support and cooperation to make the programme successful.
Speaking, the special adviser to the Governor on education Alhaji Tajuddeen Gambo said Kano State Government is very proud of Kiru Tahfeezul Qur’an considering its position in propagating Qur’anic and Islamic Education not only in Kano but the country in general.
He maintained that government would do everything possible to ensure general renovation of dilapidated buildings that characterized physical structure of the school for conducive learning environment.
Earlier, the Chairman Parents Teachers Association of the school Alhaji Umar Natagunda Gezawa said they were at the Commissioner’s office to brief him on the school’s preparation to hold its Qur’anic Graduation Ceremony coming up Sunday 9th February, 2025.
He explained that the graduation ceremony covers the period of 2019 – 2024 with total number of 1643 students who memorized the Holy Qur’an.
Umar Natagunda announced that the school produced many of its products who have become prominent people all over the country and Kano is proud of them.
” We have come to your office to inform you about this graduation ceremony and express our gratitude to His Excellency, Alhaji Abba Kabir Yusuf for the measures he is taking towards addressing challenges of the state education sector ” he revealed.
The Principal Government Tahfeezul Qur’an Secondary School Kiru Alhaji Mamuda applauded the effort of the state government for choosing the school among first batch to be renovated, pointing out that already bill of quantity was taken by the ministry under the Governor’s directive to facilitate the project.
