The Zonal Director of North West of Nigeria in charge of Kano office of National Environmental standard and Regulations Enforcement Agency (NASREA) Dr Abdulrahim mudasir along with other officials handed over the parrots to the managing Director of Kano Zoological management Agency (KAZO MA) Sadiq kura Mohammed at the office premises.
In a press statement issued by the public relations officer Amina Lawan.
Dr Abdulrashid added that NASREA and KAZOMA had been in partnership for a long time aimed at preserving and protecting the wildlife species that are facing threat of extinction.
In his response the managing Director of Zoological Agency, Sadiq kura Mohammed Commended NASREA official efforts in curtailing wildlife trade of such endangered species.
He explained that KAZOMA and NESREA would continue to carry out enforcement against poachers of wildlife in the state, said any one hold captive of the endangered animal without permit will face the full wrath of the law.
He also urged the poachers to hand over any animal to KAZOMA or face possible prosecution.
He added that they have arrested wildlife traders some from Borno State when luck ran out of them and were apprehended by the NASREA and KAZOMA officials.
