Kano state community of practice on budget tracking and accountability on immunization stakeholders under the auspices of the boost project analyse scorecard data of year 2025.

In his welcome remarks, the boost project manager Kano office Mallam Abdullahi Ibrahim Magama said that the score card indicators will enable stakeholders to know channels of were to improve more in terms of advocating for more funds on immunization in the state.

He said that since the cut from global Alliance for vaccine initiative (Gavi) who are the sole financiers , as well as other international donors vaccine financing in the Nigeria has reduced.

Magama said With the removal of subsidy this will pave way for the Nigerian government to back out from over dependency on international funds and acquire it’s own sustainable role for the betterment of its citizenry.
He then debunked statements made around immunization vaccines hesitancy and call on parents and care givers to bring their children at the designated health facilities to receive immunization at the appropriate time in other to see that they are adequately being vaccinated.

The policy and Advocacy officer Boost project, Umar Ibrahim Umar while enumerating the objectives of the event said this year’s series of advocacy will double the previous ones that has been conducted in the state.
He said that the essence of inviting cop stakeholders was for them to study the 2025 scorecard indicator document and come up with a commendable advocacy messages to the Kano state government.
On his part the co- chair cop Mallam Salisu Yusuf commended the state government for increasing allocation of immunization funds unlike the previous years, but cautioned on delays of timely releases, he cited that there is need for a coordination in the accountability process starting right from the ministries, state primary health care board, and other relevant MDAs.

Yusuf urge that the plan and micro work plan for each facilities hospital zones and local government zones should be engaging as this will develop it’s own plan for actionable implementation.
At the end of the session group work was presented by members along with a commendable advocacy messages.
