THIRD QUARTER REVIEW MEETING AHBN UPHOLDS PARTNERSHIP ENGAGEMENTS IN ROUTINE IMMUNIZATION

Representing, the Executive Director AHBN Dr Aminu Magashi Garba, the AHBN National co-ordinator, technical Adviser and Advocacy for the AMGF and zero dose project Hon Usman Muhammad in his welcome remarks commended the two co- chairs from the government and cso on the quarterly review meetings in other to access what have been done and how to plan ahead.

The technical adviser lament on the existing gaps and Urge them to be identified as this is the last quarter of the project.

He however stated that, he is optimistic as the narratives have been changing as a result of series of advocacy conducted by the members of community of practice to the executive and legislatives to address challenges on budgetary Allocation and release on routine immunization.

Hon Usman recall a meeting that occurred in Lagos few months ago, which brought about all chairmen of appropriation and chairmen house committee on health particularly on the role of legislatives, National primary health care development Agency as well as relevant officers of the zero dose.

And the meeting led to the outcome of the Lagos declaration on immunization.

He added that the preparation for 2025 score card needs to be discussed as a lot need to be done and Urge on stakeholders to partner together to achieve the desirable goal of each child receives immunization.

Delivering his good will message representing the D.G SPHCMB, SPHCMB, SERICC project manager, doubles also as cop co- chair govt, appreciate the immerse contributions of each stakeholder as the issue of zero dose is really a priority in the state, as presently increase in the uptake of routine immunization is recording a huge success across the fifteen high burden area of underserved routine immunization.

He added that the data has shown only three left over LGAs of takai, Nasara and kumbosto, alot of partners are coming to ensure key elevations are developed and implemented so as to achieve the desired directives.

The state focal person AHBN, Dr Musa M.Bello high lighted on the essence of the event which was to access the progress and outcomes from advocacy efforts, to explore the role of the media and CSOs in amplifying zero dose learning hub(ZDLH)  and to agree on priorities and next steps for quarter 4 2025 to advance zero dose reduction and strengthen accountability.

Dr musa, then took participants along right from the inception of the project where it was first implemented at the SERICC secretariat till date.

On his part the co- chair CSOs mallam Salisu Yusuf emphasized on the issue of partnership, said the engagement of the legislators is to make law and representation as well as  oversight functions.

So there is need to have a strategic Advocacy to achieve the set target.

Akibu Hamisu consultant AHBN gave an outline of  2023 to 2024 score cards as were displayed for the participants on how the alarming numbers of under served children were at  a high rate while the numbers have drastically dropped due to the intervention of ZDLH project  within the LGAs.

At the end of the meeting the CSOs co- chair community of practice on immunization, budget tracking and accountability (COP) has been given another role as a consultant on high level advocacy, stakeholder engagement AHBN mallam Salisu Yusuf was issued a one year contractual agreement by AHBN for his selfless dedication to humanity.

Zero dose learning hub project implementation areas are based within kumbotso and Sumaila LGAs.
