The Kano State Contributory Healthcare Management Agency (KSCHMA) has intensified its digital transformation agenda with the training of 120 Primary Healthcare Centre (PHC) In-Charges and Desk Officers, alongside the onboarding of private healthcare facilities onto its newly digitized platform.
The dual capacity-building exercises, held at the KSCHMA Conference Room, are designed to strengthen efficiency, accountability, and transparency in the State Contributory Healthcare Scheme.
120 PHC In-Charges and Desk Officers from across 6LGAs in the State received hands-on training in digital code requests and claims processing, facilitated by KSCHMA’s ICT and Programs Department.
The sessions focused on digital service codes, electronic claims validation, and improved reporting compliance.
With this batch, over 500 officers from more than 200 facilities across all 44 LGAs have now been trained.
Today, KSCHMA commenced onboarding for private health facilities, beginning with: Ivory Clinic and Maternity, New Age Specialist Clinic, Khadija Memorial Hospital, MGK, and Barewa Specialist Clinic.
Representatives of the facilities were trained on entering primary services electronically, verifying beneficiaries with live photographs, and using digital tools to strengthen accountability and service delivery.
Speaking at the sessions, Dr. Musbahu Maimashi, Deputy Director Programs, who represented the Executive Secretary Dr. Rahila Aliyu Muktar, said:
“KSCHMA’s digitization drive is about more than technology it is about building trust, reducing errors, and ensuring that both providers and beneficiaries experience greater efficiency in accessing healthcare services.”
Participants from both public and private facilities commended KSCHMA for the initiative, noting that the knowledge gained would make their work easier and improve patient satisfaction.
By investing in ICT-driven healthcare administration, KSCHMA is reaffirming its commitment to building a modern, transparent, and inclusive contributory healthcare system that guarantees access to quality healthcare for every resident of Kano State, especially the poor and vulnerable.
