Senator Barau Jibrin Supports Kano NLO Clubs with ₦25 Million

Nigeria’s Deputy Senate President Barau Jibrin,  has paid the registration fees for over 60 Nationwide League One (NLO) clubs in Kano State, committing about ₦25 million to the initiative.

Speaking on the development, the Senator emphasized that football and other sports in general are powerful tools for youths engagement.

He noted that sports help promote peace, instill discipline, foster national unity and uncover future champions who can bring pride to both the state and the nation at large.

He reaffirmed his commitment to prioritizing youth-focused interventions in education, sports and development programs.

According to him, such initiatives are essential in steering young people away from drug abuse and other social vices.

The move highlights his long-standing dedication to the growth of sports across the 44 local government areas of Kano State.

Over the years, he has consistently supported programs that encourage youth participation, promote talent discovery and contribute to community development.

The Senator also disclosed that one of the mini stadiums constructed in Gwarzo Local Government Area will soon be officially handed over to beneficiaries.

In addition, more than 13 sports complexes have been developed across Kano North Senatorial District.

Speaking on behalf of the benefiting clubs, Alhaji Salisu Ibrahim (Danladi Lato) commended the Senator for his outstanding contributions to sports development in Kano State and Nigeria at large.

He also congratulated the Deputy Senate President on his team’s performance in the FA Federation President Cup and their current standing in the Nigeria Premier League.

In recognition of his contributions, Senator Barau Jibrin was presented with an award of excellence for his role in advancing sports development.
