Today 30th September mark exactly two years in office after the inauguration of the present Board of the Nigeria Football Federation led by Alhaji Ibrahim Musa Gusau (MON).

In a press statement issued by the NFF Media and Publicity committee Member Lurwanu Idris Malikawa Garu.

It would be recalled that Alhaji Ibrahim Musa Gusau and Board Members of the federation were elected on 30th September 2022 in Benin, the capital city of Edo state in a keenly contested election with many contestants vying for the position of the president and Board Members.

After the election the board swung into action by re-uniting the football family in the country, reviving the glory of football and creating new innovations and the way forward.l

Alhaji Ibrahim Musa Gusau (MON), within the shortest possible time propelled the Board’s achievements in two years.

President Gusau succeeded in making Nigeria to qualify for the 2024 AFCON held in Cote d’voire. And with the federation commitment, the Super Eagles reached the finals and was unfortunately defeated 2-1 by the host country (Cote d’voire) and Nigeria ended it’s game as second position.

Alhaji Ibrahim’s led Board scored a remarkable mark within the two years under review in sensitizing  officials of football matches at all levels and promoting the welfare of the officials as they are the bedrock in improving the round leather game in the country.

It did not end there the board came up with a new policy of honouring retirees that served the federation for so many years, which is first of its kind in the history of football family in the country.

Alhaji Ibrahim Musa Gusau (MON) used his vast experience to unite the football family and ended the attitude of Godfather among Clubs owners.

The NFF President, has achieved a lot in ensuring that National teams qualified and participated in many international tournaments which include, All African Games (Male –U23), Olympic Games in Paris (Super Folcons), women under 20 world cup (Falconet) at Colombia were able to reach quarter finals.n

Another success recorded so far under the sterling leadership of Ibrahim Musa Gusau’s two year as president of the federation, was an open door policy in being punctual to office at the federation secretariat in Abuja unless he travels out of the country.

He created a very conducive working atmosphere for service to thrive at the federation while closely working with all states football associations without bias.

The name of president Ibrahim Gusau would be written in Gold being the first federation president to come up with policy of finishing the leagues on time and presenting the Trophy along with all renumeration to the clubs that won the league since the inception of his Board.

Starting the leagues on time and prompt  completion is an indelible milestone achievement that the federation has recorded in two years.

In terms of Revival of training of coaches and introducing the D. License coaching course with the sole aim of giving the younger coaches the opportunity to build their carrier was another excellent achievement for Ibrahim Gusau’s led Board.

Ensuring that all sub committees set up by his Board were inaugurated and all the members of the committees were given free hand to discharge their duties as well as settling their inauguration allowances on time without any atom of delay.

In the two years under review, the Nigeria Football Federation under the leadership of Alhaji Ibrahim Musa Gusau (MON) has revived the glory of the federation cup (AKA President Cup) by invigorating competition among the participating teams and without any fear or favour.

Home must win syndrome ended in the Nigeria leagues in the last two years under the present Board of the Federation.

Resolving the crises among the Nigerian Supporters club deserved to be mentioned as part of the achievement by the Alhaji Ibrahim Gusau’s Board.

Transparency, dedication and commitments of Ibrahim’s board are the engine room that brought the private organizations to work closely with the present board in partnering and sponsorship of some programs of the Board.

Maintaining the country’s four slots in the CAF Champions and CAF Confederation Cup is another huge success of the present board’s two years achievement in Office that cannot be forgotten.

In the two years under review, Gusau led administration initiated a lots of grass root soccer programs with the aim of producing young talents that would become Nigeria’s future players in various stages.

The broad achieved a lot in working with all football stakeholders and carrying everyone on board for equity and justice to prevail.

In the two years, NFF board led by Zamfara born football administrator has made a giant stride by making efforts to conquer Africa which saw the General Secretary of the Board, Dr. Sunusi Muhammad becoming chairman of the African football federation secretaries forum.

Maintaining Good and cordial relationship with Federal Ministry of Youths and Sports and other football bodies within and outside the country is worthy to mention in the remarkable achievements recorded in the two years under review of the Gusau’s administration.

indeed, Ibrahim Musa Gusau has proved his quality of leadership n the last two years of successfully piloting the affairs of the Nigeria Football Federation Board.

The Sky should be the limit as the saying goes and more grease to your elbow, Mr. President.
