TUC Kano Elects New Leadership at 2025 Quadrennial Delegates’ Conference

The Trade Union Congress (TUC), Kano State Council, has elected new executive officers during its 2025 Quadrennial State Delegates’ Conference held in Kano.

The newly elected officials are:

State Executive Council

Chairman: Comrade Mubarak Buba Yerima (PENGASSAN)

Secretary: Comrade Aminu Aliyu Yakasai (ASCSN)

Assistant Secretary: Comrade Samaila Muhammed Alkali (ATSSAN)

Treasurer: Auwal Ismail

Auditor: Naziru Musa Bichi (FOBTOB)

Financial Secretary: Muhammed Auwal Adamu (PENGASSAN)

Public Relations Officer: Yahuza Umar Inuwa (UTQEN)

Ex-officio: Abdu Usman Yalo (ASSUS)

Women Commission

Chairperson: Maryam Yahya Musa (ASUSS)

Vice Chairperson: Aisha Salisu (ASCSN)

Secretary: Saratu Abdullahi Rabiu

Assistant Secretary: Atika Babanzara (ATSSAN)

In his victory remarks, the re-elected Chairman, Comrade Mubarak Buba Yerima, highlighted the significant achievements recorded since 2022 when he first assumed office. He assured members of strengthened commitment toward the growth of the union and improved welfare for workers across the state.

 

The National President of TUC, Comrade Festus Osifo, who was represented by the Secretary General, Comrade Nuhu Toro, commended the Kano State Council for its dedication to workers’ welfare. Similar commendations were delivered by the Chairman of the Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC), Kano State, Comrade Kabiru Inuwa; his counterpart from the NJC, Comrade Hashim A. Sale; and the District Head of Rimin Gado, Comrade Auwalu Mudi Yakakai.

The Kano State Head of Service, Alhaji Abdullahi Musa, represented by the Permanent Secretary for Human Resources and Development, Alhaji Salahuddin, pledged the government’s support to enable TUC Kano to acquire a permanent office, operational vehicles, and other essential facilities to enhance the union’s activities.

The conference concluded with renewed optimism for stronger collaboration between the TUC and the Kano State Government in promoting the rights and welfare of workers.
