The Kano State Government has commended the unwavering commitment and sacrifices of security agencies across the state, attributing Kano’s status as one of the most peaceful states in Nigeria to their tireless efforts.

In a press statement issued by the Press Secretary, Office of the Secretary to the State Government, Musa Tanko Muhammad.

This recognition came during a courtesy visit by the Chairman, House Committee on Air Force, Rt. Hon. Kabiru Alhassan Rurum, to the Secretary to the State Government , Alhaji Umar Farouq Ibrahim, at the Cabinet Office in Kano.

Speaking during the visit, the SSG expressed deep appreciation to the entire security architecture in the state, particularly highlighting the strategic role played by the Nigerian Air Force in maintaining peace and stability.

He stated that their collective efforts have made Kano a center of attraction not only to Nigerians but to people across the African subregion and beyond.

Alhaji Umar Farouq conveyed the regrets of His Excellency, Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf, who was unavoidably absent due to his attendance at the funeral rites of an elder statesman, the late Alhaji Aminu Alhassan Dantata in Medina.

However, the Governor extended his heartfelt appreciation and pledged his unwavering support to the Nigerian Air Force and all security formations operating in the state.

In his remarks, Rt. Hon. Kabiru Alhassan Rurum, who was accompanied by members of the House Committee on Air Force and senior Air Force officers, noted that their visit was aimed at assessing ongoing operations and ensuring accountability in the implementation of the 2025 budget.

He paid tribute to the late Alhaji Aminu Dantata, describing him as a global philanthropist and a beacon of hope, whose passing leaves a vacuum that may not be easily filled.

In another development, the Senior Special Assistant to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu on Special Needs and Equal Opportunities, Hon. Muhammad Abba Isa, paid a working visit to the Secretary to the State Government.

He commended the appointment of Alhaji Umar Farouq Ibrahim as SSG, describing it as a positive milestone that reflects the administration’s commitment to inclusive governance.

Hon. Muhammad Abba Isa noted that the SSG has already demonstrated transformational leadership, leveraging his administrative expertise to enhance public service delivery within a short time in office.

He particularly praised the inclusive policies being pursued under his coordination, which align with President Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Agenda.

The SSA and his delegation were in Kano to flag off the Renewed Hope Students’ Disability Protection and Empowerment Campaign, a federal initiative focused on anti-bullying advocacy, anti-stigmatization, and inclusion of persons with disabilities in schools and society.

He applauded the Kano State Government for establishing a full-pledged Ministry to oversee disability affairs a testament to its proactive approach to protecting the rights and welfare of vulnerable groups.

These two high-profile visits reaffirm Kano State’s growing profile as a model for peace, inclusive development, and intergovernmental collaboration.

The state government remains committed to sustaining security, equity, and empowerment for all residents.
