Indigenes of the state urge to explore natural resources endowed in the state to address high level of unemployment among youths in the state.
In a media lunch organize by the state ministry of solid minerals and natural resources, to fos mutual relationship between the media and the ministry, The Commissioner Alhaji Safiyanu Hamza kachako appreciated the effort of the media in disseminating of information to the general public about the ministry.

He said that the ministry has recorded tremendous achievements within the last six months when they came on board while enumerating some of the progress so far, he said the state government under the leadership of Alhaji Abba Kabir Yusuf provided the ministry with a serene working environment, a state of the art show glass in show casing of some of the state natural resources at the entrance of the ministry, data capturing of various Natural resources in the state, a task force committee with combination of different security agencies constituted in order to have control and security of discovered areas blessed with the natural resources.
He said that the ministry which abides by the law of the country has written to the Executive Governor to grant them an executive order to enter nooks and crannies of the state to investigate and halt all illegal Mining activities that are being conducted, so as to avoid leakages of internal generated revenue of the state, reviewing the achievements of the ministry he said that the ministry was able to attend miners week in Abuja which gave an opportunity to relate with international communities on the opportunities that can be brought back to the state among other numerous achievements of the ministry.
On his part, the director solid minerals Exploration Alhaji Muhammad Bala said that about sixty percent of miners are not indigenes of the state so this is incumbent on wealthy individuals and groups to come enmass and register for issuance of licenses to explore God’s own endowed mineral resources for the development of the state in general.
He said mining is second to agriculture as millions of opportunities can be tapped out from mining sector in the state.

The director added that women in the state should explore mining activities as Kano has abundant Mineral resources of Gold deposits, as investments in to it can hugely incurred a multi billion naira gold jewelry market internationally acclaimed.
The director Environment, safety, protection and control Alhaji Sha’aya’u Jibril said the environment need to be safeguarded, for exploration leads to indiscriminate environmental degradation and hampers climate change due to dust and chemicals emanating from various mining activities in the area.
He call on the general public and those associated with mining activities to take precautionary measures at all times.
