Dala Local Government Council has commemorated the one-year anniversary in the office of its Executive Chairman, Hon. Suraj Ibrahim Imam, with reading from the Glorious Qur’an and supplications for peace, tranquility coupled with progress, and prosperity to reign supreme in the Area and the wider domain.

The event also featured prayers for deceased community leaders, including Mamuda Sani Madakin Gini Comrade Ali Yantandu Councillor of Mazugal Ward, and renowned Islamic scholar babban malami malam kabiru among others who contributed immensely towards the speedy development of Dala.

During the gathering, members and other stakeholders of the New Nigeria People’s Party (NNPP) in the Area held an interactive session where former councilorship aspirants were refunded their nomination fees, as part of reconciliation and inclusiveness initiatives aimed at upholding unity and understanding.

In his address, Hon. Suraj Ibrahim Imam expressed appreciation to the people for their trustworthiness and support, to his administration describing so doing as the root of the array of successes recorded

He said> “It was you, the people, who gave us this mandate. Any challenges we have faced are lessons that have brought progress, not setbacks. What happened in the past is a blessing in disguise and a step towards attaining greater heights.”

He reaffirmed that all actions taken by his administration were guided by democratic principles, stressing that governance under democratic setting is a collective process, not a one-man affair.

Hon. Suraj added that his gesture towards former aspirants was borne out of an act of a renewed partnership with a view to encouraging them to continue identifying and proposing projects that would benefit their immediate wards.

He however urged them to consider themselves as partners in progress, assuring that both current office holders and other loyalists would all benefit from the NNPP’s inclusive governance.

The Chairman seized the chance to commend Governor Engineer Abba Kabir Yusuf for his outstanding developmental strides, especially in road rehabilitation, education, and above all ensuring budgetary prioritization to all sectors more than ever before which, he said, has significantly improved the quality of lives of the greater majority urging him to keep the flag flying.

In his goodwill message, the Dala NNPP Chairman, Alhaji Dayyabu Ahmad Maiturare, lauded Hon. Suraj Ibrahim Imam for his responsiveness to complaints and fulfillment of promises.

He described the Council’s new initiatives as evidence of unity and renewed hope and energy within the party, assuring that the NNPP remains committed to community-oriented leadership and policies that have direct bearing to one and all as in his words they would continue to match words with actions.

Similarly, Hon. Musbahu Madabo, leader of the forum of former councillors, appreciated the Council Chairman for listening to their concerns, saying their collective aim is to promote unity, strengthen teamwork, and build a brighter future for the people of Dala.

The event was attended by political appointees, party leaders, community elders, and various stakeholders across the Local Government Area.
