The visit was a follow-up to a successful 3-day workshop on Women Journalists, organized by NAWOJ, held recently in the state. During the meeting, the NAWOJ National Chairperson expressed her appreciation to Governor Lawal for his remarkable inclusion of women in his governance structure, highlighting his media-friendly approach as a model for other leaders.

In her remarks, Hajia Aisha Ibrahim stated, “We are impressed by the strides your administration has made in ensuring women are given opportunities to contribute to the development of Zamfara State.

Your commitment to media engagement and openness is truly commendable, and we appreciate your efforts in promoting a positive image of the state.”

Furthermore, she solicited the Governor’s support for NAWOJ’s upcoming peace summit, themed “The Soft Power of Women in Peace Building and Redirecting Youths from Radicalism,” scheduled to take place in Zamfara State.

The event aims to bring together delegates from the 19 Northern States to discuss strategies for promoting peace and countering radicalization in the region.

Hajia Aisha Ibrahim kindly request the support of your esteemed government to sponsor this important initiative, which aligns with your administration’s efforts to promote peace and stability in the state,

He emphasized that we are committed to collaborating with media professionals to ensure that our message of peace and progress reaches every corner of the state. I am pleased to approve NAWOJ’s request to sponsor the peace summit for the 19 Northern States, and we look forward to hosting this important event in Zamfara,” Governor Lawal stated.

The meeting was attended by key officials of NAWOJ, state government representatives, and members of the media.
