In a decisive operation, authorities in Wudil Local Government seized 62 cartons of beer and 2,350 sachets of illicit drugs from various locations. Additionally, 20 gambling centers were closed.
In a press statement issued by the Wudil Zonal Information Officer Munzali Muhammed Hausawa.
The operation was conducted under the leadership of the Chairman of Wudil Local Government, Alhaji Abba Muhammed Tukur, with support from the District Head of Wudil, the Joint Task Force, and the Hisba Command.
The Hisba Commander, Mallam Yusuf Aminu Wudil, described the operation as successful, confirming that all seized materials are now in custody.
Speaking after the operation, Alhaji Abba Muhammed Tukur emphasized the importance of eradicating illicit drugs and unlawful activities in the area. He stated that these actions align with the teachings of the Holy Qur’an and the Constitution of the Federal Republic of Nigeria.
A resident, who spoke anonymously, expressed satisfaction with the operation, hoping that such unlawful activities would not reoccur, as they pose a serious danger to the youth.
Makaman Kano, Alhaji Sarki Abdullahi Ibrahim, urged residents to adhere to the laws of Almighty God.
A team member in the operation, reaffirmed his commitment to safeguarding the lives and property of the people.
He also called for cooperation with the current administration under Governor Engineer Abba Kabir Yusuf, acknowledging ongoing developmental projects in the area.
