The Kano State Commissioner of Information and Internal Affairs, Comrade Ibrahim Abdullahi Waiya, has launched the Community Orientation Volunteer Project in Kano State.
The initiative, spearheaded by Afnan Foundation, is designed to mobilize patriotic women to educate fellow women about government programs and policies that directly benefit them.
Speaking at the event, Comrade Waiya emphasized that the project will serve as a vital communication bridge between the government and women in the state.
Through this initiative, women will gain access to various empowerment programs introduced by the present administration.
He highlighted that the state government has been empowering 4,400 women with N50,000 monthly, enabling them to become self-reliant and financially independent.
The Commissioner also spoke about the buses procured by the state government to transport female students from their homes to schools, ensuring their safety and uninterrupted education.
He reaffirmed Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf’s unwavering commitment to women’s empowerment and development, stressing that the administration prioritizes initiatives that uplift women and enhance their economic stability.
In his remarks, former Deputy Governor of Kano State, Professor Hafiz Abubakar, commended the launch of the Community Orientation Volunteer Project, describing it as a welcome development that will enlighten women about their crucial roles in societal progress.
He urged the participants to remain dedicated and committed, ensuring the project’s success, as the state government remains focused on improving the living standards of women and the general populace.
Earlier in her welcome address, the Chief Executive Officer of Afnan Foundation stated that all selected participants in the project are dedicated, committed, and willing to educate fellow women on government initiatives aimed at economic empowerment.
She assured them that they would benefit from various support and empowerment programs, and in turn, they are expected to spread awareness on how others can access these opportunities.
This initiative further strengthens the government’s resolve to bridge communication gaps and ensure that women across Kano State fully benefit from life-changing policies and programmes
