Ummatee C4 pass Advocates inclusive social protection

Ummatee Centre for the Promotion of Public Education, Accountability and Social Safety 

Advancing public education and promoting inclusive social protection to reduce Poverty and inequity through active engagement, knowledge sharing, skills development, empowerment and by collaboration, networking and partnership with Relevant stakeholders to address critical issues affecting our society.

Appreciation:

We extend civic greetings and sincere appreciation to the Honourable Members of the Kano State House of Assembly for the opportunity to present an input at this public hearing on 2025 budgetary allocations.

It is heartening to witness the dedication of the Assembly Towards openness and transparency, allowing public engagement in the budgetary process.

Request for Budgetary Allocation:

Considering the challenges faced by poor & vulnerable populations, we humbly request the Honourable House to consider allocating a sufficient and sustainable budgetary provision Specifically designated for inclusive social protection activities.

These activities encompass Educational support, healthcare access, livelihood empowerment, and psychosocial services Which are instrumental in providing care, support, and empowerment to individuals and Sundry, including children, women, youth, elderly, PWDs and other marginalized groups within our communities.

Kano State Government priority to education sector with highest allocation is really Commendable, this clearly shows government commitment to advancing public education.

In this note, we are requesting the honourable house to also allocate reasonable amount to

1. Directorate for Youth Development (DYD) for vocational/entrepreneurship education and Training “SKILLS BEYOUND DEGREES” to train youth on Embedded Entrepreneurship

Education (EEE) with digital literacy of e-commerce and digital marketing as cross cutting.

The impact of this intervention is for a Kano youth to be the owner of businesses, CEOs of companies and employers of labour,

2. Funding to Kano State Commission for Persons with Disability for establishment and full Operation (excessive technology tools for teaching, learning, mobility and daily livings skills).

3. Funding to WARAKA SARC MMSH for full operation

4. Budgetary provision for the reactivation and reviving of: –

1. Torrey Home for the Handicap Children Tudun Maliki

2. Old Peoples Home, Shahuci

3. Remand Home (Juvenile Cases)

4. VVF Centre, Kwalli

5. Nassarawa Children Home

6. Medical Social Welfare Centre

7. Reformatory Institution for Drugs & Substances Addicts at Kiru

8. Social welfare centres across the State

9. Rehabilitation Centres in Dambatta, Minjibir, Gaya, Wudil, Sumaila, T/Wada & Rano.

10. Psychiatric Rehabilitation centres in Dorayi, Bichi and Badume.

11. Control erosion at Gayawa, Rimin Kebe, Tarda, Dausara, Dankunkuru and Zangon kaya of

Ungogo LGA

12. Construction of General Hospital at Ungogo town of Ungogo LGA

13. Additional class room blocks at Bachirawa, Ungogo and Zaura Secondary Schools

14. Construction of roads: Ungogo to Minjibir, Zangon Dakata to Yadakunya, Jaba shago tara

-Gayawa-Dankunkuru – Dausara – Inusawa – Rimin kebe, Bachirawa Kwanar Madugu to Rijiyar Zaki, Kurna by Kings college to Kwaciri – Zangon bare bari, Zangon Bare bari through

Gida Dubu to Ungogo Islamic Centre.

15. Installation of solar power system in 11 wards headquarters of Ungogo LGA

16. Installation of mechanized boreholes in 11 wards headquarters of Ungogo LGA.

Conclusively, we commend the Kano State House of Assembly for commitment to inclusive Governance. Your continued support and allocation of adequate funds towards inclusive
