The Tarauni Local Government Legislative Council, under the leadership of the Council Chairman Hon. Ali Idris Ali Kauyan Alu, today held an emergency special session during which it passed a bill aimed at sanitizing and regulating real estate brokerage activities, including the buying, selling, and renting of houses, shops, and plots of land across Tarauni Local Government Area.
The bill was presented by the Majority leader of the house also Councillor representing Babbangiji Ward, Hon. Muktar Ya’u Sani (Mai Pole), who urged the Council to enact a law that would properly regulate real estate and brokerage activities within the local government area.
The Council unanimously approved the bill.
Speaking shortly after the session at the Secretariat of Tarauni Local Government, Hon. Muktar Ya’u Sani (Mai Pole) explained that the bill was prompted by a recent tragic incident in Hotoro NNPC Ward, where a man was allegedly killed while calling the early morning (Fajr) prayer at a mosque. The incident caused fear, unrest, and tension among residents of the area, necessitating decisive legislative action to strengthen security, commercial regulation, and peaceful coexistence within the community.
The information Officer of Tarauni Local Government, Adamu Iliyasu Hotoro, reported that the Majority Leader stated that the Council action was taken with the primary objective of protecting lives and property, as well as ensuring security, transparency, and strict adherence to law and order in all transactions relating to the sale, purchase, and rental of houses, shops, and land throughout the local government area.
Hon. Muktar Ya’u Sani further called on residents of Tarauni to continue to respect and comply with established laws and regulations, while also urging them to cooperate fully with the Chairman of Tarauni Local Government in order to sustain a secure and peaceful environment for all.
The Legislative Council, under the leadership of Ali Idris Ali Kauyan Alu, extended its heartfelt condolences to the people of Hotoro NNPC Ward and the family of the deceased mosque adhan pray to Almighty Allah to grants him eternal rest and gives his family and the community the strength to bear the great loss.
