SOCSEE Celebrates Nine Years Rolls Out Achievements In Kano

A community based organization CBO in Kano society for child support and economic empowerment SOCSEE said it is a leading Tuberculosis intervention across 30 LGAs in the state.

The executive director SOCSEE Sunusi Hashim made the disclosure during an event to mark the CBOs nine years anniversary held in Kano

According to him, as the lead CBO it has engaged 30 community based organizations in Kano for Tuberculosis program in addition to over five thousand HIV/AIDS patients integration.

He maintained that, SOCSEE was established in 2014 and commenced with advocacy and distribution of mosquito nets, TB program, community Strengthening system CSS, HIV support, covid-19 program, birth registration among others.

Sunusi noted that, the challenge TB program focuses on contact tracing, testing, medication, while the HIV programs has succeeded in reducing the viral load, promoting testing, OBC enrollment and other services.

The executive director stressed that other activities by SOCSEE include enrollment of over five thousand girls and vulnerable children into schools to ensure retention and completion as well as provision of furniture and house hold items to orphans and needy during wedding among others.

“SOCSEE has implemented more than 15 projects, empowerment programs for women and youth, volunteered with CSACEFA and currently working with AGILE on education”

“The organization is also gender sensitive as we have over 1,300 female volunteers. We have procured land for SOCSEE permanent Secretariat”

“Our target is to upgrade to an NGO to contribute their quota through corporate social responsibility”

The chairman board of trustee SOCSEE, Dr. Musa Abdullahi Sufi explained that, since inception the CBO has proven its integrity and accountability beyond reasonable doubt.

He hinted that, the success was achieved due to hard work and resilience by the team and emphasized on the need for youth to acquire skills, developed ideas, be innovative, honest and be dedicative.

“Hard work lead to the success of SOCSEE we try to reach out to the team members for them to support one another, we hold everyone accountable to ensure service delivery”

The co-chair CSOs Kano state accountability forum on education K-Safe Dr. Auwal Halilu commended SOCSEE for the milestone achieved urging others to emulate their commitment and accountability.

He reiterated the commitment of K-SAFE in supporting CBOs to uplift education to a global standard.

The state coordinator of the Civil Society for Malaria Control, immunization and Nutrition ACOMIN Malam Shariff Abubakar, said he has worked with SOCSEE under the community Strengthening system CSS team network in Bebeji.

He said the team Is hard working dedicative and committed to meeting deadlines.

“Now they are implementing a community network in ACOMIN”

The event was marked by goodwill messages and award presentations to deserving staff and partners.
