KSHC: SECOND PHASE KWANKWASIYYA CITY SANITATION EXERCISE KICKS OFF

The Kano State Housing Corporation is leading the second phase of a massive sanitation initiative at Kwankwasiyya City today.

This follow-up exercise builds on the success of the first phase, further reinforcing the commitment to creating a cleaner, healthier, and more sustainable urban environment.

Speaking during the exercise the Ag/ Managing Director of the Corporation Engr. Isyaku Umar Kwa, explained that the second phase of this exercise was to enhanced Waste Management, improve waste collection and disposal systems across Kwankwasiyya City, ensuring cleaner streets and public spaces. and also for a  continued beautification of public areas, including parks and communal spaces, to promote community pride and aesthetic appeal.

Engr. Kwa stated that this move would equally encourage residents of Kwankwasiyya, Bandirawo, and Amana cities to actively participate in maintaining cleanliness and hygiene in their neighborhoods.

He therefore attributed the sanitation initiative in reducing sanitary related diseases through improved waste management and hygiene practices.

The Ag/ MD further reiterate that, “Cleanliness is a collective responsibility. We urge all residents and Staff of the Corporation to join hands in keeping our cities clean and safe.” he emphasized.

It will be recall that Kano State government has place a high premium on this three meger cities, Kwankwasiyya City, which is part of the larger urban projects initiated during the Kwankwaso administration, aims to address housing crises urban sprawl and sustainability challenges Governor Yusuf has prioritized reviving these cities, tackling issues like pension fund liabilities and ensuring proper resource allocation.

The sanitation drives are crucial steps toward realizing these urban development goals, he added.
